'Delay in Results Nerve Wracking Than Exams'

From our online archive

CHENNAI:Despite the CBSE results generating a wave of relief for a vast majority of students, it wasn’t an easy road to this.  According to one of them, the results were to come out on May 15, but pushed to 19, 21 and 27 and finally arrived late in the afternoon on May 28.

This delay and lack of clarity on the final date generated a lot of buzz, with parents and social media users speaking out on the issue.

“In my time, delay in the results meant a few hours. But for my sister, the delays were more nerve-wrecking than the exam itself,” commented Mayank Mundra, older brother of Monika from Vivekananda Vidhyashram, who cleared her boards with a perfect CGPA of 10.

Twitter too saw a stream of comments along the same lines.  A media student’s tweet reads “Don’t understand why #CBSE refuses to announce a proper result date and time days in advance. Saves students much stress #CBSEResult.”

Another student who was awaiting results expressed annoyance over having to wait so long. “What time and date will #cbse declare the #result of class 10? All the students are waiting man” he tweeted, expressing a sentiment that saw much assent.
