Jaya Orders Opening of 50 More Farm Fresh Outlets in Chennai During Rains

Chennai, November 17: Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Tuesday ordered opening of 50 more Farm Fresh Outlets to sell vegetables at reasonable prices to the public during the rainy season as transportation of vegetables had come down in the city from other parts of the State due to heavy rains.   Already, there are 42 Farm Fresh Outlets in the city. The 50 outlets would be temporary and onion, tomato, potato, brinjal, beetroot and snake guard would be sold through them. The temporary outlets would come up in Thoraipakkam, Meenambakkam, Thodhunter Nagar, Sastri Nagar, Virugambakkam, Chinmaya Nagar, Vadapalani, Villivakkam, Ambattur, Amainthakarai, Erukkancherry, Ernavur, Kodungaiyur, New Washermanpet, Tondiarpet, Mylapore, Anna Nagar, Tammbaram, Alwarpet, Adyar, Porur, Tiruvanmiyur, Arcot Road, and KK Nagar.
