Abdul Kalam Gets 1,000 Faces!

CHENNAI: When students from across 50 schools in Chennai were asked to sketch a portrait of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, the results were stunning! There were almost 1,000 different versions of the people’s president.

Entries from over 1,000 school children, who had participated in the drawing contest conducted by Max, as a tribute to Kalam, were presented at the Forum Vijaya Mall, Vadapalani.

The kids received a participation certificate and 50 kids received a medal from Guest of Honour Ponraj Vellaichamy, Former Advisor of APJ Abdul Kalam,  Rajaram IAS, Tamil Nadu Development & Information Department, Chennai. A visibly happy Ponraj went on to recite popular quotes of the leader and the students gathered there repeated after him. The event saw the participation of other luminaries such as director Balaji Mohan, actors Hamsavardhan and Dhamu, Siva Kumar and Prabhu Lakshmanan, co-Chairman and Trustee of PSNA College of Engineering, who felicitated the participants with certificates and medals. The event was a part of the activities in the theme “Today’s for Small Joys”, where the brand creates an occasion for its customers to relive their small joys of life. This activity in Chennai brought more than 300 kids together to pay a tribute to Dr.Kalam, one of India’s greatest leaders.
