CHENNAI: DMK chief, M Karunanidhi, on Tuesday requested Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu to expedite the long pending railway projects in Tamil Nadu.
Complaining that Tamil Nadu had not been given its due share by the Indian Railways for long, he said the Chenai Beach - Korukkuppettai Third Line, Chennai Central - Basin Bridge 5th and 6th Line, Athippattu - Puthur 88.3 km Long New Line, Chennai Beach - Athippattu 4th line were announced with a view to improve connectivity and reduce congestion in Chennai Sub-Urban areas but have since been withdrawn.
