Brain-dead Victims Organs Donated

CHENNAI: The organs of two road accident victims, declared brain dead by doctors, were harvested and donated to various hospitals.

The hearts were harvested and transplanted to two patients at Fortis Malar Hospital on Thursday. Speaking to Express Dr K G Suresh Rao, head, cardiac anaesthesia and critical care, Fortis Malar Hospital said the two hearts, one from Apollo Hospitals and other from Global Hospital were harvested, transported through a green corridor and transplanted to a 67 year old man from Mumbai and a 32 year old man from Delhi.
