'Medicine education not in best hands': Adyar Cancer Institute Chairman

CHENNAI: Expressing concern over increasing cases of wrong diagnoses, Dr V Shanta, chairman of Adyar Cancer Institute, noted that medical education was not in the best of hands. With diseases evolving, the renowned cancer specialist advised physicians to keep abreast of the changing disease patterns to avoid wrong diagnosis.

Delivering first Kamalam Ramasamy Udayar oration on “cancer in women-The Indian Scenario” at Sri Ramachandra University on Saturday, she advocated revision of UG medicine syllabus as new diseases are emerging.
