CHENNAI: A Tamil TV serial actress, ‘Myna’ Nandhini’s husband Karthikeyan was found dead in his room in a Virugambakkam lodge on Monday evening. Police said he probably poisoned himself.
However they said there would be clarity after the autopsy report.
The couple, who tied the knot eight months ago, were allegedly going through a rough patch, police said.
They had reportedly separated two months ago.
In his suicide note, the police said Karthikeyan, who reportedly owned a gymnasium in the city, blamed his father-in-law for creating a rift between him and his wife and held him responsible for him ending his life.
“Karthikeyan’s mother was looking for him and ended up approaching the lodge manager,” said the investigating officer. “When the two of them went up to the room, they did not get any response despite knocking and calling out numerous times. So they broke in. When they entered, they saw bottles of cool drinks lying on the bed and saw Karthikeyan lying on the floor near the bathroom.”
A case has been filed with Virugambakkam police and further probe is on.
