20 sitting legislators, clutch of ex-ministers get posts in AIADMK

CHENNAI: TTV Dhinakaran, deputy general secretary of AIADMK (Amma) on Friday appointed 60 key supporters in key positions of the party. Those appointed include 20 sitting MLAs, many former ministers and senior functionaries of the party.  

Sitting MLAs and senior leaders of the party P Palaniappan, V Senthil Balaji, Thoppu ND Venkatachalam and S T K Jakkaiyan are among those appointed as organising secretaries of the party. Besides, T K M Chinnaiya, Mukkur N Subramanian, K T Pachaimal, G Senthamizhan, R Manoharan, Challenger Durai alias R Duraisamy, R P Adithan, Charubala Thondaiman, S Kamaraj and S V S P Manicka Raja have also been appointed as organising secretaries of the party.  

Nanjil Sampath has been appointed the deputy propaganda secretary of the party. At present, he is one of the spokespersons of the party. Jayalalithaa had removed Sampath as deputy propaganda secretary last year reportedly following his interview to a television channel where he made controversial remarks.

R Thangadurai, MLA from Nilakottai constituency has been appointed as the deputy election secretary. Party MLAs Ambur R Balasubramani, S Mariyappan Kennedy, T A Elumalai, K Palani and S G Subramanian are among those who have been appointed as joint secretaries of J Jayalalithaa Peravai.  Legislator S Muthaiah has been appointed as the president of party’s doctors wing while another MLA K Kathirkamu is the new joint secretary of the wing.

R R Murugan, MLA, R Sundarraj and M Kotahandapani, MLA are among those appointed as joint secretaries of MGR Youth Wing.

Jayanthi Padmanabhan, Sathya Panneerselvam, K Uma Maheswari and M Chandra Prabha, all MLAs, have been appointed as joint secretaries of women’s wing of the party. Similarly, AK Bose, MLA, has been appointed as joint secretary of farmers wing of the party.
