CHENNAI: The Joint Action Council for Tamil Nadu Teachers Organisation (JACTO) on Tuesday demanded that the eighth pay commission for government employees be constituted immediately.
According to J Ganesan, President of JACTO, the association was ready to contribute one day salary for the cause of farmers and also to safeguard the interests of the government.
"We want the government to give up the new pension scheme introduced in 2003 and restore the old pension scheme for all government employees, especially teachers," he said.
