CHENNAI: A security guard was murdered late on Saturday by assailants when he tried to prevent them from entering the office that he guarded in Kalpakkam.
Police said Suresh (50) from Oratti near Madurantakam was working for a private real estate office. While on duty on Saturday, he noticed some people trying to break the lock of the office door around midnight.
“Suresh tried to prevent them, but was assaulted. He suffered a head injury and died on the spot. The body remained there till some people noticed it and alerted us on Sunday,” police said.
The police later found that the gang had stolen a TV, computer and other items.
