CHENNAI: Kamadhenu Jewellery has opened two new showrooms in the city — one each in Alwarpet and Anna Nagar — to great fanfare and celebration. Other showrooms are located at Avadi, Ayapakkam and Mogappair West. “It is a lucky day for us today. Both our new showrooms have been inaugurated by our founder and chairman, Vishnu Sharma,” smiles Vinod Sharma, MD, Kamadhenu Jewellery, after the lighting of the lamp at the Anna Nagar branch.
“Chennai is doing good business in gold and silver jewellery, but in diamonds, Chennai is not on par with other cities like Bombay, Pune and Delhi,” he explains. To further the reach of diamond jewellery, they have an exclusive tie-up with Gautam Banerjee, one of India’s top diamond jewellery designer with over 30 years of experience. “The designs we are launching in both the showrooms are done by him,” Vinod adds.
The Alwarpet showroom is spread across two floors each of 1,400 sq ft, and in Anna Nagar, it’s 1,300 sq ft. “We have launched a collection inspired from the art nouveau movement, which was prevalent in the 1890s. I adapted it for the south Indian market. It will be something different and I’m sure the women here will love it,” states Gautam, adding that designs inspired from nature are also in this season.
Speaking to Swetha Jayachandar, proprietor of the Anna Nagar franchise, “Jewellery is a tried-and-tested field; so what we can do differently is to concentrate on the hospitality of our customers. We’re going to give the customers exceptional care and comfort that the jewellery will just become an add-on!” she assures. “We want people to come back for the service.”
With the festive season right around the corner, Kamadhenu Jewellery promises to offer the best in gold and diamond jewellery to Chennaites, and we can expect more from them soon! “We are planning to open 10 more showrooms within the next two years,” says Vinod.
