CHENNAI: A video of a top police officer’s daughter along with a few of her relatives being intercepted by a constable at Neelankarai on Sunday night went viral. The cop was taking a video of the car while the family members warned him to stop doing so and even threatened him. That video has gone viral on social networking sites, evoking criticism. In the video, the girl identified as a daughter of a police officer in the rank of Additional Director General of Police was seen arguing with the constable identified as Karthikeyan who was shooting a video of the number plate of the vehicle and also of an open beer bottle inside the car. 

The girl and her family members kept asking him to stop taking the video, but the cop continued to do so. They even threatened him, saying he would lose job.Meanwhile, a senior police officer said a complaint had been lodged by the girl  that she was driving along with her husband, sister-in-law and brother in-law near the Neelankarai Beach. 

“Only the brother-in-law was in an inebriated condition and the car was driven by the girl’s husband who was not drunk. However, the constable was drunk. Supposed to be at Kottivakkam, he went to Neelankarai and shot the video, assuming all of them to be drunk. The personnel had also demanded money,” the girl alleged.The officer said that inquires are being held with the constable.
