Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami inaugurated the state’s first integrated check-post through video-conferencing facility on the Tamil Nadu-Andhra border at Pethikuppam.

CHENNAI: Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami inaugurated the state’s first integrated check-post through video-conferencing facility on the Tamil Nadu-Andhra border at Pethikuppam on the Chennai-Kolkata National Highway on Wednesday.

The modern check-post, which was built at the cost of Rs137.38 crore, has been provided with infrastructure from the transport, revenue, cooperation, animal husbandry, food and consumer protection, prohibition and excise and police departments. In addition, 18 buildings for the seven department have also been constructed.

The check-post has got a modern weighbridge on the lanes which would automatically weigh the vehicles for overloading. Besides, the materials on the trucks will also get scanned through the modern machines.
To ensure faster movement more lanes will be added.
