Tamil Nadu: Rs 2 lakh, valuables stolen from doctor’s house at Nungambakkam

CHENNAI: Around Rs 2 lakh in cash and jewels worth several lakhs were stolen from a doctor’s house at Nungambakkam. The incident came to light on Wednesday around 6 am when the family returned from London.

Police said V Kaushik, 46, of Kamdar Nagar, Second Street, Nungambakkam, worked as a part-time doctor at a private hospital and also ran a clinic near his house.

“On June 18, the doctor with his family had gone to London on vacation. The house was looked after by the housemaid and three other persons. On Wednesday, the family returned around 6 am. The doctor opened his office room situated inside his house only to find Rs 2 lakh and jewels worth several lakhs missing,” a police source said.
