CHENNAI: Hailing the Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami’s announcemnt on Friday that Sivaji Ganesan’s birthday would be celebrated by the State government, the actor’s son Prabhu said, “Appa is beyond politics.

From the times of former chief ministers Dr MG Ramachandran, Dr M Karunanidhi, and Dr J Jayalalithaa, he has been praised for his contributions. Even today, as many as 5,000 of his fans visit their residence on his death anniversary.”

The actor felt it’s too early to discuss the nitty-gritties of the event. “We will be having conversations with the government to discuss this. If I have a say, I would love for a Sivaji statue to be there on the beach if it is admissible.”
