CHENNAI: Residents of Tambaram will soon get a new green space, with the municipal corporation floating a tender to establish a bamboo park at Vishnu Nagar in Ward 53, at a cost of Rs 91 lakh. Officials said the park will increase the city’s green cover while giving residents a recreational space.
“The proposed bamboo park will serve as an important green space while promoting environmental conservation and public well-being. It will improve the city’s green cover, create awareness about sustainable living, and offer a peaceful place for walking, exercise and relaxation,” a senior official told TNIE.
As per the tender notification, the project will include construction of a compound wall, footpaths with kerb walls, a toilet block, drainage facilities, a pump room and a water sump.
