NEW DELHI: A 23-year-old man allegedly set himself on fire in northwest Delhi's Bhalswa Dairy area this evening after his wife refused to come back to him from her parent's house.
Vijay got married about 11 months ago and used to have fights with his wife over his drinking habits, police said.
On Friday, his sister had come to stay at his house and she had a fight with his wife, after which both the women left the home.
Vijay's wife went to her parents' place and didn't take his calls. He went to his in-law's place to meet her and to convince her to come back, but she refused, they said, adding
that he came back and set himself on fire.
He was rushed to BJRM hospital, after neighbours heard his cries, where is undergoing treatment.
He sustained 60 per cent burns injuries and his condition is stated to be critical, police said.
