NEW DELHI: Irked over her husband giving Pizza to his elder brother’s wife, a woman called her four brothers to her in-laws’ house, who engaged in a heated argument and ultimately shot the woman’s sister-in-law in her stomach.
The incident was reported from the Welcome area where the injured woman, Saadma, sustained a bullet shot and is currently receiving treatment at Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital.
DCP (NorthEast) Rakesh Paweriya said police initiated a probe into the matter after meeting the injured woman at a hospital. It came to light that the matter reached to this end due to a dispute within the family.
A 21-year-old woman named Sadia is married to Zeeshan, and Saadma is married to Zeeshan’s elder brother Javed. They do not like each other and often get involved in trading barbs.
“Probe revealed that Sadia is having some matrimonial disputes with Zeeshan and his family members, and she does not like Saadma and wants to live separately from the family members of Zeeshan,” the DCP said.
On October 16, Zeeshan brought a pizza to the house and distributed it among all the family members. Seeing Zeeshan giving Pizza to Saadma angered Sadia, and she called her four brothers, Tafseer, Shahzad, Gulrej and Muntahir, to her house, which resulted in the gunshot to Saadma.
Accordingly, based on her statement, a case was lodged under relevant sections of the law, and the four accused were apprehended.
