NEW DELHI: A woman and her three minor daughters were allegedly killed with a sharp-edged weapon in Delhi’s Samaypur Badli area on Wednesday, with police suspecting the role of the husband, who is currently absconding.

Police were informed on Wednesday that four people, three girls and a woman, were killed by slitting their throats in Chandan Park, near Sarvodya Vidhyalay.

A police team rushed to the spot at Chandan Park in Siraspur and found that, in a room situated on the ground floor, three minor girls and a woman were lying dead. Their throats were found slit, cut by some sharp-edged weapon. “Immediately, the crime team and FSL team were called at the spot,” a senior police officer said.

Inquiry conducted so far has revealed that the deceased woman, Anita, was living at the address with her husband and three daughters. The family originally belong to Patna in Bihar.

Munchan Kewat, the husband of the deceased, has been absconding since early morning and is the prime suspect. He was working as a vegetable seller in Azadpur Mandi, the officer said.

The bodies, which were discovered by neighbours, have been sent to the mortuary for post-mortem examination and further proceedings. A case is being registered and various teams have been constituted in search of the accused, police said.
