It seems that 686 slums out of the total 1,452 slums notified in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits will have better civic facilities thanks to the rajiv awas Yojana (raY).the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water supply and sewerage Board (HMWs&sB) has identified 686 slums for laying water supply lines and 639 sewerage lines at a cost of Rs 730 crore. Proposals for the project would be soon submitted to the state government for approval. speaking to express, HMWs&sB officials said the raY scheme will provide potable drinking water and better hygienic conditions in slums. Officials said the project will strive to improve civic facilities in 1,452 slums in the next five years.Board has proposed to build 57 water supply infrastructure and 32 sewerage infrastructure. projects would be taken up in areas like Kukatpally, LB nagar, Gaddianaram, Quthbullapur, alwal, Malkajgiri, Kapra, Uppal, Seri Lingampally, Ramchandrapuram, Patancheru and Rajendranagar.
