HYDERABAD: A group of tribals from Kurmidda village in Ranga Reddy district on Tuesday alleged that they were manhandled by Yacharam sub-inspector of police when they refused to give their lands to the local landlords.

At a press conference, the victims - Nenavatha Thaurya, Nenavath Ghansya, Nenavathi Sona, Nenavath Sevya and Nenava - said that Yacharam sub-inspector Krishnam Raju called them to the police station on March 23.

“The local landlords - Krishan Reddy, Nenavath Jagan, Nenvatha Lal and few others have been threatening us for years and trying to take away our lands by force,” the victims said.
