Man suspects friend stole Rs 300, kills him

HYDERABAD: Theft of Rs 300 led to a dispute between two friends and to the brutal murder of one of them by the other at Sivajinagar in Alwal police station limits in Secunderabad on Sunday.  According to the police, an amount of `300 had been stolen from Shanker Naik,a pavement-dweller, a few days ago. Suspecting that his friend S.Narahari, a carpenter, had stolen his money, Naik attacked him while the latter was going to a tea stall around 6 am on Sunday.

He bludgeoned his friend with an iron pipe and strangled him to death,  Alwal police inspector Pushan Kumar said.  Naik was arrested and booked under Section 302 (murder) of IPC.
