After bowling over the viewers with his scintillating performance as Lord Sri Rama, Balakrishna is gearing up for a sociofantasy, the storyline of which is inspired from Vikram-Bhetal stories published in Chandamama books that we all grew up reading.

Sources say the movie will most likely be a remake of yesteryear classic Bhatti Vikramarka, directed by Jampana Chandrasekhara Rao.

Casting late NTR as Vikramarka, Kantha Rao as Bhatti, SV Ranga Rao as Mantrik and Anjali Devi as Prabhavathi Devi, the 1960-release was a biggest commercial hit in those days having run for 100 days.

The remake now is said to be planned by producer Yalamanchili Sai Babu who scored a hit with Balayya recently through Sri Rama Rajyam
