Youth’s plea on teacher jobs admitted

HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh Administrative Tribunal (APAT) on Thursday admitted a petition by an unemployed youth who challenged the government’s decision to reduce the quantum of recruitment to school assistant additional teacher posts in government secondary schools under the Rashtriya Madhyamika Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA).

Petitioner Vinod Kumar of Mahbubnagar district contended that the government issued orders (GO No.

3, dated Jan 7) sanctioning 9,569 posts but later limited (by issuing GO No.

7, dated Jan.

9) the recruitment to only 30 per cent of the vacancies.

This is illegal, arbitrary, he argued, and pleaded for the modification order to be struck down.

.Having admitted the petition, the tribunal ordered issue of notices to the principal secretary (finance), principal secretary (school education), director of school education and the Mahabubnagar district collector.
