HYDERABAD: The All-India Majlis Ittehadul Muslimeen organised a seminar at Jubilee Hall here on Sunday to mark the 10th anniversary of Gujarat riots.

Former chief election commissioner JM Lyngdoh said a large number of people migrated to other places after the riots and the Election Commission had to strive hard to bring them back and see all of them exercised their franchise in the elections that followed.

MIM president and MP Asaduddin Owaisi alleged that around 42,000 Muslims lost their lives in riots in the country in the last 60 years.
