Passenger detained with fake passport

The immigration officials of the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) on Thursday detained a 35-year-old Keralite who was travelling to the city from Dubai with a fake passport. They handed him over to the RGIA police for further investigation.

According to the police, Abdul Razak, a resident of Kozhikode, went to Dubai a few years ago on a temporary passport to work as a labourer at a hotel. To return Hyderabad, he approached a middleman in Dubai who arranged a fake passport on his name.

During checking, the immigration officials found him possessing a fake passport and immediately detained him. The RGIA police registered a cheating case and investigation is on.
