4 of a family hurt in cylinder blast

Four members of a family were hospitalised after they received serious burn injuries in a domestic gas cylinder explosion here on Saturday.

The accident took place at Chilkanagar in Uppal when one of the family members was illegally refilling gas into small cylinders.

According to police, Abdul Khadeer was refilling the gas when the explosion took place. The injured, Abdul Khadeer, Gaffar, Jarasia and Farousia, were admitted to Gandhi general hospital and their condition is stable.

Sub-inspector Praveen Kumar said the neighbouring houses were also partially damaged due to the explosion.

Uppal police had earlier arrested Khadeer for the same offense and he was remanded. Later he was let out on bail.

Police registered case against Khadeer under section 337 (Causing hurt by act endangering life of others) of IPC and investigation is on.
