Express News Service

A 15-year-old schoolgirl was kidnapped from her house at Nadargul in Meerpet police limits in the early hours of Saturday. Police suspect the hand of the girl’s old classmates in the kidnapping.

According to the police, Sravani, a Class X student of MRR School, , was sleeping in her house when the unidentified persons, suspected to be her old friends, kidnapped her around 4.30 am and fled away in a four-wheeler.

Only Sravani and her grandmother Suryamati were in the house at the time of the incident, police said. A few minutes later, Suryamati woke up and, upon finding her missing, made a futile search for her. She then lodged a police complaint.

‘‘We received a complaint from Suryamanhi that some persons had come by a four-wheeler and kidnapped the girl Sravani had studied up to Class IX at Shapurnagar and shifted to Nadargul on developing a rift with her school friends at Shapurnagar,’’ police said and suspect that the girl’s old friends might be involved in her abduction.
