Banjara Hills police on Monday booked music composer Chakri and producer Paruchuri Prasad for allegedly misbehaving with a junior artiste.

The woman alleged that the music director and his friend Prasad misbehaved with her  when she had gone to Chakri’s house in Srinagar Colony for a party on Friendship Day on Sunday, Banjara Hills police said.Police booked Chakri and Prasad under Section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the IPC on a complaint.

Prasad and Chakri invited their close friends for a party on Sunday night. Madhavi was one of the invitees.

There were heated arguments between Prasad and Madhavi at the party. Prasad reportedly assaulted Madhavi in the presence of Chakri, police said. Madhavi in her complaint to the police said that she was abused and assaulted by Prasad and Chakri.

“We recorded the victim’s statement. Police will question Chakri and Prasad. We are gathering details of persons who attended the party. After collecting information,  stern action will be initiated,’’ DCP V Satyanarayana said.

According to sources, a team of three police officials visited Chakri and  reportedly questioned him. When the police tried to contact Prasad, his mobile was switched off.
