Express News Service

A 16-year-old Intermediate first year student committed suicide by hanging himself in his classroom in Vanasthalipuram here on Wednesday.

The deceased left a suicide note in which he said that he took the extreme step as he did not like the hostel.

The deceased was identified as Puli Bhavani Sai of Sri Medha Junior College in Vanasthalipuram. He stayed in the hostel located on the same premises. His father Ramesh is an attender in Doordarshan at Ramanthapur.

“Around 5 a.m. Sai came to his classroom and committed suicide. Later, the students found him hanging from the ceiling fan. The college management then alerted the police,” said sub-inspector K Nagaraju.

Police recovered the body and found the suicide note in which the victim wrote that he did not like the hostel and was therefore ending his life. “No one is responsible for my death. The college is also not responsible,” the letter said.

However, Sai’s family alleged that he took such an extreme step due to harassment by college authorities.
