Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Thursday sanctioned an ex gratia of Rs one lakh each to the kin of 44 passengers who were killed in Palem bus accident. It may be recalled that 44 passengers were charred to death when a private Volvo bus they were travelling from Bangalore to Hyderabad caught fire at Palem in Mahbubnagar district in the early hours of October 30.
The state government ordered a probe by a three-member committee of senior IAS officers into the accident and to suggest measures to prevent such accidents in the future.
