AIG Faculty to Attend Telemedicine Symposium

Considering its vast experience in the field of telemedicine, the faculty of the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology have been invited to the seventh Asia Telemedicine symposium on ‘’Success and failure of telemedicine in Asia”.

The symposium will be held on December 13 and 14 in Bangkok. U Satyanarayana of the institute will apprise the delegates about how the institute was successful in treating rural population suffering from gastrointestinal diseases.

He will also shed light on the use of the same in patient counselling, robotic surgery, research and in sharing medical knowledge between various countries. He will also request the government bodies to assist private institutes by increasing education and research networks pertaining to telemedicine education in medical colleges.

Delegates from Thailand, Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, China, Taiwan, Vietnam, Australia and other countries are expected to participate in the conference.

It is an initiative of the Telemedicine Development Centre of Asia, Fukuoka, Japan, and Kyushu University Hospital, Japan.
