In about four to five months, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) will be setting up a gaming zone spread over 20,000 sft area of Laserium Complex of Lumbini Park near the Secretariat.
The complex will include a 9D virtual reality/entertainment theatre, virtual-reality underwater aquarium, bowling alley, video arcade, indoor rides and a party zone.
In this connection, HMDA has invited tenders from the agencies for granting license for installation and operations of gaming zone in the Laserium Complex for a period of five years.
The agency to whom the license is allotted as per the agreement would be allowed to collect user charges from the customers. The maximum user fee permissible for a person per ride/per show for adults and children up to 12 years or 4.5 feet height would be `200 (adult) and `100 (children) for 9D virtual reality and entertainment show.
Bowling Alley (`150 and `75), video games (`75 and `50), Indoor Rides (`75 and `50) and a user charge for the party zone will be based on the market.
The licensee to whom the operations are allotted by the HMDA will not have the right to charge more than the prescribed user fee towards permitting the customers to use/enjoy the project facilities. If the licensee wishes, a 10 per cent increment in the user fee over the previous year would be allowed, informed officials.
The 9D virtual reality theatres would have three different theatres, each with a capacity of 40 persons, and would have motion seats with 6D with high quality electric and hydraulic platform with six arc screen.
The digital underwater aquarium will be established in an area of 2,000 sq.ft, equipped with latest digital technologies for creating a virtual underwater aquarium environment. Different species of fish such as catfish, shark, sheath, arowana and tetras with animation along with variety of water plants, flora would be part of this facility. The bowling alley will be allowed as per the prescribed dimensions.
Both video games and indoor rides will be installed within the single platform with 10 different coin-operated game machines and arcade machines, besides 10 different kiddie rides. The Party Zone will consist of a snack bar.
Closed circuit television cameras and metal detectors must also be installed for hundred per cent surveillance and maintaining security of the area.
