The University of Hyderabad Mutually Aided Cooperative Housing Society has denied the allegation made by some students that 60 acres of land had been allotted illegally to the society.

Narayana, one of the directors of the housing society which has 1,500 members, said here on Monday that the land was allotted to them in accordance with the revenue department’s memo.

Durga Prasad, secretary, said they had been fighting for land since 1990 and staged dharnas.
