Minutes after the government issued the orders, Ramudu took over the charge at his office. Ramudu is currently officiating as the in-charge DGP of AP after Chandrababu Naidu became the Chief Minister. Ramudu is actually supposed to retire on July 31 on attaining the age of superannuation. The appointment came at a time when the cadre allotment of All-India Services officers remained incomplete.
