Governor ESL Narasimhan has nominated Justice Ashutosh Mohunta, senior most judge of the High Court, as executive chairman of the AP State Legal Services Authority.
A notification to this effect was issued by the law department on Wednesday.
Justice Mohunta was born at Ajmer on Feb 25, 1953. His family originally belongs to Sirsa in Haryana. He enrolled as an advocate in 1977 in Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh, and practiced in civil, criminal and Constitutional matters.
He was elevated as permanent judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court on July 2, 2001, and transferred to Andhra Pradesh High Court and assumed charge on Oct 28, 2010.
