Different Colours for EALs on Liquor Bottles in T, AP States

A new corporation under the name Telangana Beverages Corporation has been registered

HYDERABAD: After the official bifurcation of the state on June 2, the colours of the Excise Adhesive Labels (EALs) on the liquor bottles in Telangana and Residuary AP state will be different for different categories.

In Telangana state, light pink colour will be used for labels on bottles of liquor manufactured within the state, light orange colour for labels on the bottles containing liquor for export, light red for the labels on the bottles containing imported liquor and light black for labels on the CSD-supplied liquor bottles.

The EALs on bottles containing liquor meant for local consumption, instead of the light green colour, pink colour will be used. Regarding the state logo, Telangana state logo will replace the existing one in due course of time after it is created.

In the Telangna state, the words ‘Government of Andhra Pradesh Prohibition & Excise’ will be replaced by ‘Government of Telangana Prohibition & Excise.’

The colours to be used in the residuary AP will be: Light green for the labels on bottles containing liquor manufactured within that state, light yellow for the bottles containing liquor meant for export, light yellow for the labels on bottles containing imported liquor and light brown for the labels on the CSD-supplied liquor bottles.

BEVERAGES CORPN: A new Corporation under the name ‘Telangana Beverages Corporation Limited’ has been created and registered under the Companies Act 1956. The APBCL Board of Directors passed a resolution to this effect at a meeting held on May 12 and the same was later approved by the government.

CYCLONE WING TO BE SHIFTED TO AP: The State Project Implementation Unit (SPIU), which is implementing the `771.50-cr World Bank-funded National Cyclone Risk Mitigation Project (NCRMP) will be shifted to residuary AP.

This project is a Centrally-sponsored project with 75 per cent contribution by the Central government, as grant-in-aid and a matching 25 per cent contribution by the state government. The task of the SPIU is to reduce the vulnerability of coastal states, through creation of appropriate infrastructure which can help mitigate the adverse impacts of cyclones.
