Union Secretary Coming to Review HMR Project

HYDERABAD: Secretary in the Union Ministry of Urban Development Shankar Agarwal will arrive in Hyderabad on September 23 to review the status of Hyderabad Metro Rail Project.

Agarwal will arrive on the morning of September 23 and leave for Delhi the same evening. After arrival in Hyderabad, he will drive to Telangana state secretariat and will review the progress of the project with Telangana chief secretary Rajiv Sharma at the latter’s chambers.

The review assumes importance in the wake of the “leak” of a letter written by L & T Metro Rail to Telangana government that it wants to exit from the project as it had become unviable but later, after discussing the issue with the Chief Secretary, saying that it had changed its mind and that it would take the project forward.
