HYDERABAD: The learning and skill development industry is witnessing a dynamic shift in this digital age. Classrooms are moving to the online world in real-time and businesses are trying to map the offline experience to the online world. With a $40 billion Indian online education market size, everyone wants to grab their own space in the domain.

Keeping the growing shift to online education in mind, way2sms founder Raju Vanapala has come up with LearnSocial.com that was launched in June this year. Having started way2sms.com in 2006 that crossed over 20 million users in a short span of four years; Raju Vanapala decided to shift gears towards education.

“We wanted to build an amazon of learning. I want LearnSocial to be part of that space. The idea is to take the offline learning activity online that caters to all age groups,” says Raju. Targetting age group of 17 years and above, “job seekers and professionals”, the website offers a plethora of courses to enhance one’s qualifications.

Anyone who wishes to enrol on the website can click on the course they are interested in, to get the details and reviews. To help the person zero in on the course, an advisor gets in touch with the individual immediately and coordinates with them.

Once the person decides on the course, he/she can now take the live instructor-led classes which are held in batches of 15.

The instructors in these classes are industry experts who have an experience of more than 14 years. “What sets apart our learning platform is we conduct real-time classes where the strength never goes beyond 15. This way, there is a personalised interaction between the instructor and the students.

In addition, they can get in touch with their fellow students for discussions as well,” explains Raju. Even if the student misses the live classes, they can go back and review it again on the website. To keep a check on the student’s progress, the website also has assessment tests where students and instructors can keep track of their progress.

Although there have been no efforts towards marketing, the founder has plans to launch it in US in the near future. “We have observed that half of our traffic is coming from there in addition to cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi and Hyderabad.
