HYDERABAD: Music director Srinivasa Chakravarthy, popularly known as Sri died here on Saturday. He was ailing for the past few months and breathed his last on Saturday. Sri was the son of yesteryear’s renowned music director Chakravarthy. He made his debut as music director in a movie titled ‘Police Brothers’.

Sri composed music for movies like ‘Ammoru,’ ‘Gayam,’ ‘Money,’ ‘Money Money,’ ‘Anaganaga Oka Roju,’ ‘Little soldiers,’ ‘Sindhooram,’ ‘Aavida Maa Aavide,’ ‘Amrutham Chandamama lo,’  ‘Sahasam,’ among others. Though Sri composed music for a few movies, he  earned a special recognition for himself. Directors Ram Gopal Varma, Krishna Vamshi and Gunnam Gangaraju had high regards for Sri.

A graduate in industrial and production engineering, Sri also composed private music albums and anchored a music show on a popular television channel. Sri also sang songs, with his most successful song being ‘Jagamantha kutumbam naadi’ from Chakram. Sri is survived by his wife and a son.
