Aarogyasri Workers Launch Strike in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: Employees of Aarogyasri Health Care Trust, who are recruited on contract basis, launched an indefinite strike from the wee-hours of Saturday. Around 1,500 employees working in the district shave decided to keep away from work demanding hike in salary and allowances.

An important responsibility of employees is to help patients know if their medical expenses will be covered under insurance scheme. They work with both government and private hospitals. With the employees boycotting duties, the patients will be denied information about medical aid support.

Leaders of Telangana Aarogyasri Outsourcing Employees Association, who stayed put at Indira Park here, stated that the strike will continue till their demands are met. We have served a strike notice to all officials concerned. Since, our problems have not been solved, we launched the strike, said P Chandra Sekhar, president of the association.
