HYDERABAD: Task Force sleuths busted an examination fraud in the Acharya Nagarjuna University’s distance education courses and arrested four persons, including the principal of a private college here.
Original answer sheets and question papers were seized from them.
The arrested were identified as Raparti Suresh(32), correspondent of Chaitanya Academy, Himayathnagar, Challa Ajay Kumar (40), co-coordinator of SV College, Ramanthapur, Gudi Swarnalatha(40), principal of RK College, Chikkadpally and Malluri Kiran Kumar(27), supervisor at Chaitanya Academy. Two other accused are said to be absconding.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police N Koti Reddy told reporters here on Saturday that the accused were collecting huge sums from students and engaging others to write the examinations for them. The impersonators would write the exam at the Chaitanya Academy run by Suresh.
The racket came to light on Friday when MSc Data Mining and Techniques exam for second year IT distance course was being held. During interrogation it was found that supervisor Malluri Kiran Kumar of Chaitanya Academy would collect question papers from various examination centres where they had colluded with the officials. They would make an imposter answer the papers at their academy. Then Kiran Kumar would return the answer scripts to the respective colleges.
According to the police, Suresh had struck deals with the officials of S.V. College, Ramanthapur, R.K. College, Chikkadpally and the Siddartha Academy in Dilsukhnagar.
Three distance education students - K Saptagiri (28), a private employee from Phanigiri colony, Kothapet, G Yellesha(31), a businessman from Bhongiri and S Naresh (32), a private employee from Kothapet - have also been booked.
