Online Stalker Stayed Single to Pursue Amorous Acts

Express News Service

HYDERABAD:The 33-year stalker, K Madhu, who managed to collect the profile of more than 5,000 women and exploited many of them sexually, was an amorous person who preferred to enjoy the liberty of single life. According to the police he preferred to stay alone and invested his time to trap gullible girls. She teams and sleuths attached to the cyber crimes police, who caught the accused on Thursday are waiting for the victims to come forward and lodge a formal complaint.

The police swung into action after two victims approached them complaining about harassment and mental agony caused by the accused.

“He had his own ways to trap women. Madhu used to send postcards to women on the occasion of their birthdays, with his phone number written on back of the card. We recovered close to 1,000 postcards, 19 mobile phones, SIM cards, 13 logbooks containing the contact information of women and two bikes,” said a police officer.

Though Madhu’s family members tried to convince him to get married, the stalker was reluctant to get engaged with a woman.

He wanted to enjoy single life and thought tying the knot would pose hurdles in his ‘pursuits’.

Though Madhu, alias Srinivas, was well settled with a secure job, he was never satisfied. He was suspended from the post of assistant manager at Food Corporation of India eight months ago, for dereliction of duty.

It is said that higher officials were informed that cases were registered against him for harassment of women.

Madhu collected the profiles of young women from Internet and contacted them offering help to pursue their career dreams. Using the help of an operator at Indian Internet Point in Kothapet, Madhu downloaded profiles of girls who applied for OUCET and other competitive exams.

He managed to collect the name, door number, phone number and other details of girls from the application forms.

Madhu contacted the girls introducing himself as an education counsellor and assured to help the students in their academic pursuits. If a girl falls in his trap, Madhu would invite her to his room on pretext of showing his office, and would sexually exploit her.

The police is trying to crack the password of his laptop, to check if he had really collected the photos and videos of the victims, to blackmail them.

“He is lodged in the prison now. We are in the process of booking him under Preventive Detention Act,” said Swathi Lakra, additional commissioner of Police (Crime).
