T-Struggle Footprint on PSC Exam Syllabus

HYDERABAD: Candidates aspiring to get into State government jobs should know all avenues of the Telangana movement.

Interestingly, the syllabus for newly introduced paper VI of Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC), covers the history of Telangana struggle.

The syllabus also mentions the establishment of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) in 2001 and the role of its founder and current Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in the movement. The role played by various political parties including Congress, BJP, TDP, MIM and Left parties also finds a mention.

Explaining the need for inclusion of a separate paper on Telangana movement, at a news conference here on Monday, TSPSC chairman Ghanta Chakrapani  said: “It is important that candidates who aspire to a job with Telangana State should be aware of the socio-economic conditions of the new state and the struggle for statehood.”

The TSPSC released the detailed syllabus for recruitment exams of Group I, II, III and IV and gazetted, non-gazetted posts on Monday.

Aspirants can find the scheme and contents of the entire syllabus on the TSPSC website. The chairman pointed out that the syllabus was finalised after eliciting the views of academics like Prof Haragopal, Prof Kodandaram and Chukka Ramaiah among others.

Meanwhile, the TSPSC is planning to issue a notification to fill vacant posts in agriculture department during the first week of September. Several other posts in engineering departments will also be filled soon, said Chakrapani.
