HMWS and SB to Ensure Regular Water Supply

Water tankers are making 1,500 trips per day to deliver water to slum areas in addition to the regular piped supply.

HYDERABAD: Considering the extreme heat conditions prevailing in the city, Hyderbad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) managing director B Janardhan Reddy has instructed the chief general managers and general managers to deploy tankers wherever necessary according to demand.

He reviewed the arrangements with directors, CGMs and GMs for supply of water to slums. All the slums are being supplied water on par with domestic houses for about one hour. There are about 1,43,841 domestic slum connections in the city which are being supplied water regularly.

Water tankers are making 1,500 trips per day to deliver water to slum areas in addition to the regular piped supply. The managing director urged consumers to cooperate with officials duly requesting them about the necessity of tankers.
