HYDERABAD: In what seems like a sheer case of negligence, parents of a six-year-old girl who was undergoing treatment at Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad, allegedly found an insect in Intravenous (IV) fluid bottle administered to her.

The girl identified as Sai Pravalika from Mondrayi village in Janagam district of Telangana was suffering from fever. While undergoing treatment at Paediatric ward of the hospital, her parents Bikshapati and Sumalatha allegedly found the insect floating in the IV fluid bottle.

The parents reportedly said that since the time she was given the fluid, her condition worsened, and raised a protest over the issue.

Doctors at the hospital have kept the girl under close medical observation.
