CM to launch plantation drive on July 8 in Nalgonda
Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will launch Haritha Haaram, a massive tree plantation programme, at Pedda Kaparthy in Chityal mandal of Nalgonda district on July 8.
The state government has decided to plant saplings on either sides of the 165-km long Hyderabad-Vijayawada National Highway. The plantation will take place on a single day.
Plantation procedure
In order to carry out the plantation drive in a smooth manner, officials have divided the highway into 14 segments starting from Abdullapurmet near Ramoji Film City to Nallabandaguden at Kodad mandal in Nalgonda. One officer each has been placed as in-charge for each segment. The 14 segments will cover six Assembly segments, ten mandals and 50 villages along the highway.
Similar plantation programmes will be taken up on all the National Highways in the state. Special counters will be opened to distribute saplings to people at KBR Park, Shamshabad Airport, Necklace Road, Hitech City, Charminar and Uppal on July 11 for the Haritha Haaram.
Apart from regular plants, fruit-bearing plants, flower plants and medicinal plants will be planted in a big way.
