“Welcome to Hyderabad David Guetta. Look forward to hosting you tomorrow. Cyberabad police committed to ensure a glitch-free event as always,” the official twitter handle of the Cyberabad Police Commissioner posted on Friday evening. It appears that the two-time Grammy award-winning artiste will keep his date with the fans here with authorities giving nod to the event on Saturday.

Renowned for his music across the world, David Guetta’s India tour has been far from rosy after his concerts in Bengaluru and Mumbai -- considered among India’s most cosmopolitan cities -- were cancelled in the last minute as the organisers failed to complete “mandatory requirements and legal formalities”.  But there is some respite for Guetta and his fans in India as Hyderabad is all set to host the EDM star, after getting  clearance from the police.

According to the organisers, around 4,000 to 5,000 people are expected to attend the event, including a few celebrities. “We have received official confirmation from the police, with the Cyberabad commissioner himself tweeting that the event will go on as per schedule. It’s good news for all David Guetta fans in the city,” said a spokesperson for the event. Earlier on Friday, the organisers announced that  David’s Mumbai event was cancelled.

Meanwhile, EDM fans in the city are now waiting with bated breath to see their favourite artiste on stage. “This is a concert that I have been waiting for a long time.   Cannot wait for it to start,” shared an excited Chetna Jain, who has already booked a ticket for the concert tomorrow.                            More P 7
