HYDERABAD: The questioning of Tollywood celebrities in the drug peddling and abuse case is hogging the attention of all. However, apart from getting information from the stars, officials have been carrying out continuous checks to wash out drug abuse from TS by calling users of drugs and narcotics, and counselling them.
Apart from students, employees in IT and other sectors were counselled and statements were taken from them. Officials said apart from leads they got on toll-free number (1800-425-2523), peddlers and those who placed orders on darknet, spilled the beans on narcotics and the supply chain. It was through one such lead that sleuths caught Ronson Joseph, a former manager of an actress.
While marijuana smokers are often found smoking up at unassuming locations in the public, doers of hard drugs often get together at common places like their homes or discreet locations. While Dhoolpet is considered a ganja hub in the old city of Hyderabad, for Hitec City residents it is Nanakramguda, officials said.
