Morning walk on wedding day turns last for Hyderabad city sub-inspector

HYDERABAD: A middle aged sub-inspector of Hyderabad City Police, who was reported to get married on Monday, died instantly after a speeding car knocked him down in the morning, at Tipu Khan bridge in Langer Houz.

Kistaiah (55) part of the special branch of the city police was walking on a bridge at around 6 am when the car knocked him down from behind. Kistaiah sustained serious head injuries and succumbed on the spot.

The driver of the car fled after the incident, and passersby alerted the police. Kistaiah’s body has been sent for postmortem.

 Police collected clues from the spot and retrieved CCTV footage to identify the killer vehicle and driver.
